Family events.

Following on from our success delivering Forest School, Baby-bushcraft and Mini-bushcraft in schools since 2007 we have developed a child and family friendly environment in our 20 acre woodland in Stapleford near Tarvin, Cheshire.

Holiday Clubs:

Most days during school holidays we are open for individual children to attend, forming groups up to 20, and participate in adventurous and ever so slightly risky activities where they can emulate their TV bushcraft heros.

In longer holidays we try to fit in one or two 3 day courses for our more frequent or older visitors who require stretching in terms of skills and confidence.

We always try to fit in family days so that parents of children who are unsure about the club or who may have had a slightly untoward experience on their own at a previous session can come and see it first hand and make any subsequent decisions regarding future participation.

Nature Photography courses:

One of our staff just happens to be a professsional photographer as well as a Primary School teacher and a Forest School Practitioner. We will be running day courses in digital photography around our woodlands throughout the seasons looking at developing skills, not so much in the physical operation of the camera but, around composition, filtering and post processing. You'll need your own camera for the day and be prepared to have one or some of your pictures transfered onto a laptop in the field for manipulation as a demonstration to others.

Parties:

We were looking for an alternative to the ubiquitous play barn party for our own children and discovered that children of all ages appear to like the concept of Forest School parties, Bushcraft parties or even escape and evasion outdoor laser tag. We give a groups of  children 20 acres to run wild in with tasks to complete that can lead to them lighting their own fires and cooking their own food or perhaps building dens and shelters to hide from marauding invaders. Also, we found that we have become a provider of a slightly different Hen or Stag party and to top it all we are hosting a 60th Birthday party!
